Over 200 PTI workers shifted to Attock after Adiala runs out of space
Two hundred and forty Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists arrested during protests have been transferred from Adiala Jail to Attock District Jail due to overcrowding.
According to a statement released by the jail superintendent, 235 men and 5 women were arrested in connection with the protests.
The prisoners were brought to Adiala Jail on judicial remand, but due to a lack of capacity, they were subsequently transferred to Attock District Jail.
Jail officials confirmed that Adiala Jail currently holds no other inmates awaiting trial and that a notification regarding the transfer has been issued.
