Karachi man sells wifes jewelry for medical treatment, gets shot by robbers
A young man was shot dead by robbers in the Ahsanabad area near the Site Superhighway in Karachi on Tuesday evening.
Farhan Khan who worked for a medical company and was a father of a young daughter, was reportedly struggling financially.
According to family members, Khan had sold his wife’s jewelry to raise money for his sick daughter’s treatment. He was returning home with the money when he was attacked and killed by robbers who opened fire when he resisted. The robbers escaped with the money.
The incident has left Khan’s family devastated. They have complained that police have not yet contacted them or launched an investigation into the killing.
Farhan’s death brings the number of citizens killed in Karachi this year due to resisting robbery to 104. The incident highlights the ongoing issue of crime and insecurity in the city.
