Navya Haridas selected as BJP candidate for Wayanad bypoll against Priyanka Gandhi Vadra
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced Navya Haridas as its candidate for the upcoming by-election in the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency, where she will face Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and LDF’s Sathyan Mokeri.
The bypoll was necessitated after Rahul Gandhi vacated the seat.
Navya Haridas, a two-term Kozhikode Corporation Councillor and leader of the BJP’s Mahila Morcha, has previous electoral experience, having contested the Kozhikode South Assembly seat in 2021, where she finished third.
She is a software engineer by profession.
This bypoll marks Priyanka Gandhi’s electoral debut, as she seeks to capitalize on anti-incumbency sentiments.
