Investigations underway after blast near Delhi police school

The explosion impacted local businesses, prompting a swift response

A loud explosion occurred early Sunday morning at a CRPF school in the Rohini area of Delhi, raising significant security concerns. Officials from the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and National Security Guard (NSG) commandos are currently on-site. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, although there was damage to the school’s walls, nearby shops, and a car.

Residents of Rohini were startled awake by the blast, with vibrations felt in homes several hundred meters away. Locals reported a “chemical-like” smell and observed thick white smoke at the site for about 15 to 20 minutes.

The explosion impacted local businesses, prompting a swift response from the fire brigade, police, bomb squad, and teams from the NIA and NSG to investigate the cause. Senior police officials, including members of the crime branch and Special Cell, also visited the area after the incident, and a forensic team conducted an examination and collected samples.

Sources from the Forensic Science Laboratory informed ANI that the material used in the blast outside the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) school in Rohini, Delhi, resembles a crude bomb and emits a foul odor. However, definitive conclusions will only be drawn after a thorough forensic analysis.

In addition, a team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and personnel from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have arrived at the explosion site.
