Efforts to reach a consensus on the 26th Constitutional Amendment are accelerating. Following a meeting with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), a delegation from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) visited Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman’s residence for consultations.

Media reports indicate that Bilawal Bhutto also met with Akhtar Mengal, the head of the Balochistan National Party (Mengal), at Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman’s residence.

Bilawal Bhutto was accompanied by Naveed Qamar, Murtaza Wahab, and Sherry Rehman.

The PTI delegation included Barrister Gohar, Suleman Akram Raja, Asad Qaisar, and others. Hameed Raza, chairman of the Sunni Ittehad Council, was also part of the delegation.

How the constitutional amendment aims to reshape the judiciary

The constitutional amendment has sparked significant political activity. Earlier, Shehbaz Sharif visited Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman’s home without protocol, but the talks failed, resulting in a strong reaction from Maulana, who threatened to halt consultations if the government didn’t show seriousness.

Before visiting Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman’s residence, the PPP delegation met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House to discuss the political situation and coordinate their approach.
