The Indian High Commission has granted visas to 82 Pakistani pilgrims to attend the five-day Urs celebrations of Khwaja Nizamuddin Auliya. The pilgrims are scheduled to cross the Wagah border into Delhi on Saturday.

Historically, obtaining visas for this annual event has been challenging for Pakistani pilgrims, with previous refusals from the Indian authorities.

All 82 pilgrims were instructed to gather in Lahore just two days prior to their departure, allowing them to receive their visas.

This development comes on the heels of Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar’s visit to Pakistan, which has been seen as a positive sign for bilateral relations.
