Islamabad, Rawalpindi to close venues from Oct 12 to 16 ahead of SCO summit
In preparation for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference, a directive has been issued to close wedding halls, cafés, restaurants, and snooker clubs in Islamabad and Rawalpindi from October 12 to 16.
The SCO summit, chaired by Pakistan, is scheduled to take place on October 16 and 17 in Islamabad, with various heads of state in attendance, including Chinese Premier Li Qiang.
According to police, security measures will be heightened in the twin cities during the conference. Notices have been sent to traders, hotel, and restaurant owners, warning that legal action will be taken against those who violate the order.
Additionally, police have requested surety bonds from traders and hotel owners. A public holiday has also been announced in both cities from October 14 to 16.
