Special PIA flight brings 71 Pakistanis home from Lebanon and Syria
A special Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight carrying 71 Pakistani nationals from Lebanon and Syria landed at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi early Wednesday morning.
According to a statement from the Foreign Office, the passengers included 67 evacuees from Lebanon and four from Syria.
Upon their arrival, the evacuees were warmly greeted by Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori, Federal Minister Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and Sindh Minister for Industries Jam Ikramullah Dharejo.
Governor Tessori emphasized the government’s dedication to ensuring the safe return of all Pakistanis stranded in Lebanon and reassured that more repatriation efforts would follow.

He also commended the embassies for their prompt actions in facilitating the evacuation. Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui acknowledged the difficulties involved but affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was fully committed to the safe return of its citizens. Minister Dharejo praised the efforts of the Sindh Government in this important initiative.
