Rajinikanth releases first statement following hospitalization

Indian cinema icon Rajinikanth has issued his first statement after being hospitalized for a heart-related elective procedure.

The 73-year-old star was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai on Monday due to swelling in the aorta, which was treated by Dr. Sai Satish using a non-surgical, transcatheter method.

A stent was placed in the aorta to address the issue.

Rajinikanth was discharged from the hospital on October 3. In a message posted on X (formerly Twitter), he expressed heartfelt gratitude to his fans and colleagues for their prayers and support during his recovery.

He thanked various political figures and fellow actors, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amitabh Bachchan, for their good wishes regarding his health.

On the professional front, Rajinikanth is looking forward to the release of his upcoming film, Vettaiyan, alongside Amitabh Bachchan and others, set to hit theaters on October 10. He also has another project titled Coolie in the works.
