Islamabad’s Red Zone sealed, containers deployed throughout city
Islamabad’s Red Zone has once again been sealed off to prevent protests by political parties, causing significant disruption for citizens.
Containers have been placed on roads leading into the Red Zone, with only Margalla Road remaining open for access. Similarly, in anticipation of a PTI protest call on Friday, containers have been positioned at Chungi Number 26, IJP Road, Faizabad in Rawalpindi, allowing for potential road closures.
The morning saw significant traffic congestion as citizens struggled to reach offices and educational institutions within the Red Zone.
Many expressed frustration, urging political parties to resolve their issues through dialogue and an end to the frequent disruptions impacting daily life.
All vehicular and pedestrian traffic is currently restricted from entering the Red Zone, resulting in considerable inconvenience for residents and commuters. A large police presence has been deployed throughout the sealed areas.
