Iranian army says missile attack on Israel responds to Nasrallah’s killing
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) have stated that the missile strikes that targeted Israel are a retaliation for the recent killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, as well as Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh earlier this year.
In an official statement, the IRGC declared, “In response to the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, Hassan Nasrallah, and IRGC commander Nilforoshan, we aimed for the heart of the occupied territories.”
Tehran has indicated that its missile assault on Israel has come to a close and has cautioned the Israeli government against any retaliatory actions.
In a social media post, the Iranian mission to the UN stated, “Iran’s legal, rational, and legitimate response to the terrorist actions of the Zionist regime—targeting Iranian nationals and interests while violating the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic—has been appropriately executed.”
