Massive fire erupts at PWD grocery store in Rawalpindi
A significant fire broke out Friday morning in the upper section of the Pakistan Works Department (PWD) grocery store, sending residents into a state of panic.
According to initial reports from Rescue Officials 1122, the blaze ignited around 11am and quickly spread, trapping an unknown number of individuals inside the building.
Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes as people rushed to escape the flames and thick smoke billowing from the upper floors.
Rescue teams are currently working tirelessly to evacuate those trapped within the grocery store.
Eyewitnesses reported that rescuers have successfully utilized the building’s lift to assist in the evacuation efforts.
