Factory worker dies after sick leave request denied
A tragic incident occurred in Bangkok, Thailand, where a 30-year-old female factory worker passed away after her sick leave request was denied by her manager.
According to foreign media reports, the woman, named Mae, worked at an electronics factory in Samut Prakan province.
After being diagnosed with intestinal swelling, she requested sick leave from September 5 to 9, supported by a medical certificate.
Although she was granted leave and subsequently hospitalized for treatment, she was discharged after four days.
On September 12, Mae requested an additional two days of leave, explaining that her condition was worsening due to work demands. However, her manager insisted that she must return to work and submit another medical certificate, as she had already taken sufficient leave.
Concerned about losing her job, Mae returned to work. Unfortunately, after only 20 minutes on the job, she collapsed.
