The Federal Ministry of Law and Justice has declared a notification circulating on social media, purportedly appointing Justice Mansoor Ali Shah as Chief Justice, to be fake.

In a statement, the ministry clarified that it has not issued any such notification and the notification in circulation is fake.

Justice Shah, the senior puisne judge of the Supreme Court, is expected to become Chief Justice upon the retirement of the current Chief Justice, Justice Qazi Faez Isa on October 26.
