Pakistan’s exports to the US increase by 1.62% in early FY 2024-25

Pakistan’s exports of goods and services to the United States rose by 1.62% during the first two months of the fiscal year 2024-25, compared to the same period last year, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

Total exports to the US reached $949.855 million in July-August 2024-25, up from $934.666 million in the corresponding months of 2023-24.

Despite this increase, year-over-year figures indicate a decline in exports for August 2024, which fell to $473.838 million from $494.774 million in August 2023.

On a month-on-month basis, exports also experienced a slight dip of 0.45%, decreasing from $476.017 million in July 2024.

In contrast, Pakistan’s total exports to other countries saw a significant increase of 7.18% during the same period, rising from $4,536.015 million to $4,862.017 million, as reported by the SBP.

On the import front, Pakistan’s imports from the US grew by 5.60% during July-August 2024-25, totaling $370.661 million compared to $350.977 million last year.

Year-on-year, imports from the US increased to $185.606 million in August 2024, up from $176.497 million in August 2023. Month-on-month, imports saw a slight decrease of 0.29%, down from $185.055 million in July 2024.

Overall, Pakistan’s imports rose by 13.82%, climbing from $8,376.052 million to $9,533.997 million, according to the data.
