Eight people, including four women, have been kidnapped by bandits in Shikarpur, Pakistan, after being lured with a fake marriage proposal.

The victims, who are residents of Sukkur’s Micro Colony, were invited to the remote “katcha area” of Napur Kot under the pretense of meeting a potential bride. However, upon arrival, they were kidnapped by the outlaws.

Police officials believe the bandits used the marriage proposal as a deceptive tactic to lure the victims to a secluded location where they could be easily captured.

This incident comes just weeks after a attack in Rahim Yar Khan, where 12 police officers were killed and seven others injured in an ambush by dacoits.
