X app finds workaround to brazil ban amid legal dispute
The social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, has successfully bypassed a ban imposed by Brazil’s Supreme Court.
This update, which utilizes Cloudflare software with dynamic IP addresses, has allowed some Brazilian users to regain access to the app, much to their surprise.
The ban was enforced last month after Elon Musk’s refusal to remove numerous right-wing accounts accused of spreading misinformation.
The Brazilian Association of Internet and Telecommunications Providers (ABRINT) stated that the new system complicates blocking the app, as its IP addresses are shared with other legitimate services, making widespread restrictions impractical.
The situation has ignited debates over freedom of expression, with Musk expressing his frustration over the ban.
