Attack comes a day after multiple people were killed in pager blasts

A series of explosions targeting walkie talkies and other devices rocked Hezbollah strongholds in Lebanon on Wednesday, killing at least nine people and injuring 300 others.

The blasts occurred in Beirut’s southern suburbs, as well as in the eastern towns of Sohmor and Baalbek. State-run media reported similar explosions of pagers and “devices” in other Hezbollah strongholds in the east and south.

A source close to Hezbollah confirmed that walkie talkies used by group members exploded in Beirut’s southern suburbs. Hezbollah-affiliated rescuers reported that devices exploded inside two cars in the area.

In Sohmor, three people were killed after devices exploded, according to the National News Agency.
