This development comes amidst growing tensions between the KP government and the federal government. The move by the KP government is seen as a direct challenge to the federal government’s authority.

The Insaf Lawyers Forum, a body of lawyers affiliated with the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, is expected to play a key role in this confrontation.
