Shaukat Basra, the PTI Punjab secretary of information, has alleged that the federal and Punjab governments, led by PML-N, have paralysed the country with their “fake Form 47.”

“Even if their [PML-N] spiritual father, General Ziaul Haq, were to rise from the grave, he could not stop PTI from holding a rally,” he said in a statement while reacting to the government’s action to seal roads and mobile networks ahead of PTI rally.

His statements came after the governments took strict security measures with 29 locations in the city sealed off and various entry and exit routes blocked with containers ahead of the PTI rally in Islamabad.

Mobile phone and internet services have been shut down for security at the rally site, causing difficulties for citizens due to the suspension of the Metro Bus service. Reports indicate that explosive materials have also been recovered from the venue.

But the rally could not begin despite the schedule, prompting the government to issue another notification and stop the rally that was supposed to conclude by 7pm.

He accused Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz of turning Islamabad into a “container city” and said that by blocking roads with containers, the government has “exposed itself.”

Basra claimed that the PML-N’s politics was based on May 9 narrative and claimed that Sharif and Zardari families would get relief after amendments to the National Accountability Bureau laws.
