Azhar Mashwani says both brothers ‘released’
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf activist Azhar Mashwani said that both of his brothers have been released and have returned home.
In a post on X, Mashwani said that his brothers, Zahoor and Mazhar, reached home at 2am.
He added that both had been abducted on June 6, and their release came after 92 days.
Mashwani thanked Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb of the Islamabad High Court and Justice Shehbaz Ali Rizvi of the Lahore High Court for fixing the case of the his brothers’ disappearance promptly.
He also thanked lawyers, reporters and social media activists for their support.
Islamabad High Court had ordered the government to find and produce Mashwani’s brother in court. During the hearing, the court had remarked that the government seemed to be the beneficiary of enforced disappearances.
