10-year-old Swat boy shines in international Quran recitation competition
A 10-year-old boy from Swat, Pakistan, has made headlines by securing fourth place in the International Quran Recitation Competition, “Mazamir Dawood”, held in Algeria.
The competition was organized by the private media channel Echorouk, the competition took place from August 18 to 31 and featured participants from over 15 countries.
Muhammad Bashar’s impressive performance earned him a prize of $1,500, highlighting the strong cultural and spiritual bonds between Pakistan and Algeria.
The annual event showcased the talents of young Quran reciters worldwide, and the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments of Algeria also organized another major competition under the patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
