Pakistan sees decline in gold prices amid rising global rates

The gold prices in Pakistan fell, even as international rates rose on Thursday, the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) reported.

In the local market, the price for one tola dropped by Rs2,200, settling at Rs261,500.

The cost for 10 grams of gold decreased by Rs1,886, reaching Rs224,194.

On Saturday, the gold price had been Rs263,700 after a gain of Rs1,700.

In contrast, international gold prices increased on Thursday, with APGJSA reporting a rate of $2,516 per ounce (plus a $20 premium), rising by $4 during the day.

Silver prices remained steady at Rs2,950 per tola.
