A nationwide shutter-down strike is being held today by trade organizations across the country in protest against high electricity bills, excessive taxes, and the absence of business-friendly policies.

Various groups, including the Karachi Chamber, the Oil Tanker Association, and engine traders, are actively participating in the strike.

Notably, several political and social organizations, including the Karachi Chamber, have voiced their support for the strike initiated by trade bodies.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed his backing for the movement yesterday.

The PTI has also aligned itself with the trade organizations in their opposition to the government.

Hafiz Naeem from Jamaat-e-Islami emphasized that the nation cannot shoulder the burden of Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and insisted that electricity bills should reflect only the actual costs.
