Two Pakistani startups shine on Forbes’ ‘Asia 100 to Watch’ list
In another testament to Pakistan’s burgeoning startup ecosystem, two homegrown companies have been featured in the prestigious Forbes ‘Asia 100 to Watch 2024’ list.
The two startups that have made it to the coveted list are:
DealCart: Headquartered in Karachi, DealCart operates an online grocery platform targeting the country’s expanding middle-class consumers. The startup recently raised $4.5 million in pre-seed funding.
NayaPay: A fintech startup based in Karachi, NayaPay offers a suite of digital payment solutions, including an e-wallet, virtual debit cards, and point-of-sale devices for businesses. NayaPay secured $13 million in one of the largest seed funding rounds in South Asia last year.
While commenting on the achievement, NayaPay pressed their delight at being recognised as one of the trailblazers in the region. He stated that the accolade reinforces their mission to drive the digitalization of financial transactions in Pakistan.
This latest Forbes listing comes on the heels of seven Pakistanis being named in the publication’s ‘Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia’ earlier this year, as well as two Pakistani businesswomen making it to the ‘Forbes 100 Most Powerful Businesswomen’ list.
