This incident follows a tragic event on August 23, where 12 officials were martyred

Police in Sadiqabad, Punjab, have successfully rescued Constable Ahmed Nawaz from the clutches of bandits in a raid conducted in the “kuccha” (unpopulated) area. The constable’s safe return has brought immense relief and joy to his family.

Constable Ahmed Nawaz was kidnapped two days ago from the “kuccha” area of Machhka by bandits.

Rahim Yar Khan DPO, Rizwan Umar Gondal, stated that Constable Ahmed Nawaz’s safe recovery was a top priority. He emphasized the strong presence of police in the “kacha” area and highlighted the high morale of the force. He reiterated the police’s commitment to eradicating criminals and ensuring the safety of the “kacha” area from bandits.

The DPO further emphasized the police force’s focus on their targets and declared Constable Ahmed Nawaz’s safe return a significant achievement for the police.

This incident follows a tragic event on August 23 in the “kuccha” area of Machhka, Rahim Yar Khan, where bandits attacked two police vehicles, resulting in the martyrdom of 12 officers.

The bandits used rockets to attack the police vehicles, which were stuck in floodwater. Seven officers were injured in the attack, and several others went missing.

Following the incident, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed deep sorrow and condemned the attack, calling it unacceptable. She directed the Inspector General of Punjab Police and the Home Secretary to launch an operation against the bandits.

Maryam Nawaz vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice, ensure the swift recovery of missing officers, and eliminate all lawless areas.

Subsequently, Punjab Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar, Additional IG Special Branch Zulfiqar Hamid, Additional IG CTD Wasim Siyal, and other senior officers arrived in Rahim Yar Khan following the Chief Minister’s directives.
