The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) has announced that it will observe a “day of gratitude” on Friday, August 23, to celebrate the recent Supreme Court decision in the Mubarak Sani case.

Addressing a press conference, JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman praised the role of the Pakistani parliament and Supreme Court in the ruling, stating that “no power in the world can conspire against the belief of finality of Prophethood.”

He congratulated the Muslim Ummah, the nation, and religious parties on this “great achievement.”

Rehman said the JUI has organized a public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore on September 7 to mark the golden jubilee of the parliament’s 1974 decision declaring Ahmadis and Lahoris as religious minorities.

He emphasized that the day will be commemorated as a “day of victory,” with the Supreme Court’s recent ruling further amplifying the significance of this milestone.

The JUI chief reaffirmed that no one can challenge Pakistan’s stance on the finality of Prophethood, while recognizing the human rights of all citizens. He expressed his appreciation for Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s role in settling the matter “once and for all.”

Rehman’s remarks come after a large number of supporters from various religio-political parties gathered outside the Supreme Court and in the Red Zone, peacefully dispersing while chanting slogans in jubilation following the court’s decision.
