Armed men close shops in Karachi after gangwar criminal’s death

Heavy contingents of police have been dispatched

Businesses in the Old Golimar area of Karachi, including the Bismillah Hotel and surrounding shops, have been forcibly shut down by armed men. The individuals reportedly closed the marble market and other shops.

After shutting down the shops, the armed men opened fire in the air, creating a tense atmosphere and fear in the area.

Sources indicate that the incident is linked to the killing of gang leader Umairr Jeengo in a police encounter two days ago. Some members of the gang are believed to have closed the shops in retaliation for his death.

SSP Keamari Captain (Retd) Faizan Ali, stated that heavy contingents of police have been dispatched to the area and the situation is expected to normalize soon.
