The alleged abduction of actress Nimra Khan in Karachi’s Defence Phase 8 has taken a new turn, as police clarified that it was not an attempted kidnapping but rather a “case of harassment.”

According to Sub-Divisional Police Officer Manisha Ropeta, the investigation revealed that there was a single assailant involved in the incident. She noted that there have been two recent harassment cases involving women and both suspects have been arrested.

Nimra expressed satisfaction with the police’s performance, stating that they worked “tirelessly” to gather evidence and carry out the investigation.

“I am glad that nobody is after my life,” she said and hoped that they would arrest the culprit and provide justice to her.

The incident reportedly occurred on August 11 evening. The actress had previously revealed in an Instagram video that she thwarted an attempted abduction, sharing chilling details about the incident with her followers.

She shared a terrifying account of her experience while waiting for her family outside a hotel in Karachi’s Defence area. While her family was on their way to pick her up, their vehicle got caught in traffic. As it began to rain, she stood outside the hotel waiting.

Nimra recounted that three armed men approached and stopped their vehicle nearby. They attempted to forcibly pull her into the car at gunpoint.

She described a frightening moment when one of the assailants placed a gun against her abdomen, prompting her to scream and fight back.

“I started screaming and ran away,” she said, noting that hotel security guards were present but did nothing to intervene. “Nobody helped me. Anything could have happened—they could have shot me from behind, but I escaped.”

CCTV footage of the incident showed the actress waiting for her vehicle by the roadside when the alarming incident occurred.

Rupeta released a video statement regarding the investigation, clarifying that authorities have determined there was only one assailant involved, who was riding a motorcycle. The suspect was alone during the incident.

The police officer confirmed that the incident constituted harassment rather than an attempted kidnapping. She added that a route map for the suspect has been created, and efforts to locate him are ongoing. “The suspect will soon be in police custody,” she assured.
