Severe flooding hits Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan as thunderstorms loom over Karachi

Torrential rains have occurred in various cities of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan. There is a possibility of rain with thunderstorms in Karachi today and tomorrow.

In Lahore, heavy overnight rains led to the accumulation of water on roads in Gulberg, Davis Road, Ghari Shahu, Chungi Amar Sadhu, Faisal Nagar, Harbans Pura and Mall Road.

WASA and other agencies have also been alerted. Faruqabad, Vehari, Jalalpur Pirwala and Kamonki have also been inundated due to the rains.

In Balochistan, rivers and streams are in spate, low-lying areas have been submerged, crops and link roads have been destroyed.

Rainfall has also been reported in Islamabad, and the Meteorological Department has forecast more rains in the next 24 hours.

Moreover, heavy downpours in Burewala city and its suburbs have caused widespread inundation, with low-lying areas submerged and water entering homes and shops.

Roads like College Road and Arif Bazar have also been submerged.

Power supply also remained disrupted due to the tripping of various feeders.
