The Pakistan Railways has announced that it will not be running the Azadi Train, a hallmark of the country’s Independence Day festivities, for the third consecutive year.

The Azadi Train, which typically showcases Pakistan’s diverse culture and heritage through vibrant floats, has been a cherished tradition for citizens. The train would journey from Rawalpindi to important stations across the country, entertaining and engaging the public.

However, the Pakistan Railways has cited “severe financial difficulties” as the reason behind the decision to cancel the Azadi Train once again.

This marks a significant blow to the annual Independence Day celebrations, which have long been associated with the iconic train.
