Police personnel across Bangladesh have started returning to their duties following public appeals, as the country’s interim government works to restore order amidst ongoing protests and unrest.

The police headquarters (HQ) has responded to rumors circulating about the situation, urging the public not to be misled by unverified information.

A senior official at the police HQ stated, “All police personnel have been ordered to join their duties by Thursday. We request the public to cooperate with the police and not believe in any kind of rumor or false information.”

The move comes after protesters, including students, had earlier called for a boycott of police and demanded the removal of all law enforcement agencies from the streets. However, the public mood seems to have shifted, with many now expressing support for the return of the police force.

The interim government, led by a Chief Adviser, has been working to address the economic and political crisis gripping the country. The police have been directed to exercise restraint and avoid the use of excessive force against demonstrators.

The official added, “We assure the public that the police are here to maintain law and order and protect the citizens. We urge everyone to remain calm and cooperate with the authorities during this transitional period.”

As the country navigates the challenges ahead, the government and the police force are seeking to rebuild public trust and restore normalcy across Bangladesh.
