Pakistani sharpshooter GM Bashir failed to qualify for the final round of the shooting competitions at the Olympic Games in Paris.

Bashir scored 581 points in the qualifications, finishing 15th and missing out on the final by just four points. The cutoff score to make the final was 585.28 points.

Bashir was one of three Pakistani marksmen competing at the Olympics this year. Earlier, Kulsoom Hazara and Gulham Mustafa also failed to reach the finals of their respective events.

The only remaining Pakistani athlete yet to compete is Arshad Nadeem, who will take part in his event on August 6.

Pakistan’s sole female Olympic marksman fails to qualify for next round

Last week, the country’s sole female Olympic marksman, Kishmala Talat, was eliminated from the event after finishing 22nd in the Women’s 25m Pistol event on Friday. Meanwhile, her compatriot Faiqa Riaz also failed to progress in her competitions.

This marks a disappointing showing for the Pakistani shooting contingent at the Paris Olympics, as they were unable to secure a medal despite high expectations. The team will look to bounce back and put in stronger performances at future international competitions.
