Nothing concrete has materialised so far in contacts with establishment: Gandapur

Khan willing to apologise on May 9 events, but mistake needs to be proven first, says KP CM

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has claimed that the PTI had contacts with the establishment, but nothing concrete has materialised so far.

“PTI founder Imran Khan is willing to apologise for May 9 events, but the mistake needs to be proven first,” he told reporters outside the Adiala Jail on Saturday.

Khan has been incarcerated for almost a year. The former prime minister’s legal cases were likely to end when the court overturned his conviction in the “un-Islamic” marriage case, however, his hopes were dashed when police and NAB arrested him in more cases.

“We have not made any mistake, it was a pre-planned operation, if the mistake is yours and you ask me to apologise, that will not happen. Let’s sit and discuss, prove the mistake, and we will apologise as much as the mistake is,” Gandapur said while speaking about the May 9 events.

The KP chief minister claimed that the party’s mandate was stolen, the Constitution was violated, and there should definitely be a discussion on the repeated violations of the law.

He added that Khan was concerned about the country’s economy and was ready for talks for the nation. “Imran Khan has always advocated for negotiations and has also formed a committee.”

The KP chief minister also announced that he would either declare a rally in Islamabad or quit politics.

Gandapur also mentioned that he was in contact with Sher Afzal Marwat and the notices were given to him on the instructions of the party’s founder. He advised the outspoken leader that if anyone criticises the party on social media, he should tolerate it, and the party’s internal matters would be resolved within the party.

The KP chief minister was of the view that the path of reconciliation should not be closed.
