IHC orders recovery of Shehbaz Gill’s missing brother by August 6
The Islamabad High Court has ordered the authorities to produce the missing brother of PTI leader Shahbaz Gill, Ghulam Shabbir, in court by August 6th. During the hearing, Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb remarked that if the court issues strict orders, action can be taken against the judges.
The court was hearing a petition seeking the recovery of Ghulam Shabbir, who has been missing. The petitioner’s lawyer said that the court had previously ordered the authorities to produce the abductee, but the state counsel informed the court that according to the reports of the agencies, the abductee is not in their custody.
The Deputy Attorney General informed the court that the ISI has reported that the abductee is not with them, and the military intelligence has sought more time.
At this, Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb remarked that earlier, the police were asked to produce the person, but now the government of Pakistan itself is following this policy. He questioned the state counsel as to whom he will convey the sentiments of this court.
The state counsel said he will inform the Chief Commissioner and the IGP of Islamabad himself. To this, the judge asked what they will do, as the court will issue orders against them. He said the state agencies claim they don’t know the whereabouts of the person, which is the most dangerous situation, as the state says it doesn’t know where the person is but it will also not do anything about it.
At this point, the petitioner’s lawyer said that Shahbaz Gill is making video logs in support of the PTI founder.
Justice Aurangzeb questioned the audacity of the Ministry of Defense for interfering in these matters, warning that stern orders could lead to action against judges.

There was a dialogue with the Ministry of Interior representative, urging them to take the case seriously, as the person will be released on bail but the country’s reputation is being maligned.
IHC today ordered that the court order be presented before the Prime Minister, and directed that the abducted person be recovered and produced in court by August 6. The High Court Registrar’s Office is to ensure that the court order reaches the Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary.
Later, the IHC adjourned the hearing of the case until August 6.
It may be recalled that on July 31, the Islamabad High Court had ordered the recovery of Shehbaz Gill’s brother within two days.
