BYC’s Gwadar sit-in ends after successful talks

All arrested activists will be released

Protests in Gwadar have ended after successful negotiations between the administration and the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC).

Gwadar Assistant Commissioner Mir Jawad Zehri, confirmed that the negotiations between the Deputy Commissioner of Gwadar and the BYC were successful. He also announced that the arrested BYC activists will be released.

Mir Jawad Zehri further stated that mobile network services will be restored and all road blockages will be removed. The BYC will end their sit-in protest following these agreements.

The Assistant Commissioner also acknowledged the role of the local leadership of the National Party (BNP), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), and BNP-Awami in mediating the talks.

Balochistan Home Minister Mir Zia Lango has reiterated the government’s commitment to listening to and resolving all demands within the framework of the constitution and law.

“We have said from day one that dialogue is the only way to resolve any issue,” Lango stated. He further appealed to leaders of all political parties to work together for the progress and prosperity of the country and nation.

The Home Minister emphasized that he has been present in Gwadar for the past three days, following the directives of the Chief Minister of Balochistan.
