Federal Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has condemned what he called a “new conspiracy” against Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa on social media, vowing to take legal action against those involved. He also stressed that the state will not tolerate any calls for the Chief Justice’s assassination.

Addressing a press conference alongside Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal in Islamabad, Minister Asif stated that inflammatory remarks have been made regarding Chief Justice Isa and that some individuals are operating on an agenda driven by external negative interests.

“The state will not allow anyone to issue a fatwa for the murder of anyone,” Asif declared. He emphasized that Chief Justice Isa has been targeted for some time and that the latest social media campaign against him is a new plot. He assured that the law will be enforced against these “negative elements.”

He further argued that there is an attempt to silence a powerful voice in the judiciary, a voice that upholds the principles of justice and truth. He highlighted that the Supreme Court has already issued a clear statement on the matter.

Asif also criticized the ongoing false propaganda surrounding the issue, stating that Chief Justice Isa has no connection to any decision or statement that has been falsely attributed to him.

He suggested that some individuals are exploiting the situation for their own political gain. He reminded the public that there is a system in place within the state, and baseless accusations cannot be made.

He concluded by emphasizing that all Muslims believe in the finality of prophethood, which is a core part of their faith.
