The Federal Ministry of Education extended on Sunday the summer vacations in Islamabad schools and colleges till August 4, citing the hot summer weather in the country.

“Due to the intense hot and humid weather in the district ie Federal Capital, it has been decided to extend summer vacation in ICT schools/colleges till August 4, 2024,” said a notification

The schools and colleges would reopen on August 5.

Last week, the Sindh Education Department extended the summer vacations in the province until August 14 given the prevailing weather conditions.

It merits here to mention that the Met Office has predicted more rain-wind and thundershowers from July 28 to 31 with occasional gaps in many parts of Pakistan.

“Strong monsoon currents are likely to penetrate from the Arabian Sea in upper parts from July 27 night and likely to penetrate central and southern parts from July 29,” the PMD said in a statement on Friday.
