Fast bowler Shahnawaz Dahani has been ruled out of the Pakistan Shaheens’ ongoing tour of Australia due to a back injury.

The injury will prevent him from participating in the second four-day match against Bangladesh A, scheduled to start on Friday, as well as the white-ball segment of the tour, which includes two one-day games and the Top End T20 Series.

The 25-year-old Dahani, who took four wickets in the first four-day match against Bangladesh A, will return to Pakistan immediately for further assessment by the medical panel. Following the assessment, he will begin a rehabilitation program to address his back injury.

To fill the void left by Dahani, the team management has called up spin-bowling all-rounder Mubasir Khan. Mubasir, who has shown promise in domestic circuits, will join the squad for the white-ball matches, adding depth to both the batting and bowling departments.

Additionally, Khurram Shahzad, initially slated to return home following the conclusion of the four-day series, will remain with the squad for the white-ball games.

Shahzad’s continued presence provides the team with additional options in the pace department for the upcoming one-day matches against Northern Territory Strike and Bangladesh ‘A’, scheduled for August 4 and 6, respectively.
