Khan approaches court to prevent being handed over to army

PTI founder expresses fear he could be handed over in May 9 cases

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has approached the Lahore High Court seeking protection against potential army custody in cases related to the May 9 incidents.

Khan, through his lawyer Uzair Karamat Bhandari, filed a petition in the High Court, naming the federal government and the Inspector Generals of Police of all four provinces as respondents.

In his petition, Khan expressed concerns about the possibility of being handed over to the army in connection with the May 9 cases.

He argued that any potential arrest should be made by civilian courts and requested the court to issue an order preventing his transfer to military custody.
