More rain-windstorm showers likely at various parts of country
Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain-windstorm/thundershower is expected in Punjab, Islamabad, Pothohar region, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, northeast/south Balochistan and southeast Sindh during the next 24 hours.
Isolated heavyfall is also expected at a few places in northeast Punjab, Kashmir and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the forecast period.
As per synoptic situation, monsoon currents from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal were penetrating upper/central parts of the country. A trough of westerly wave was also affecting upper/central parts of the country.
The PMD has warned that heavyfalls may generate flash flooding in local nullahs/streams of Murree, Galiyat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Malakand, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Kurrum, Orakzai, Khyber, Mohmand, Nowshera, Swabi, Kashmir, Deira Ghazi Khan, Musa Khel, Barkhan, Kohlu and Loralai.
Urban flooding is also expected in low lying areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa till July 24. Landslides may disrupt roads at the vulnerable hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the wet period.
During the last 24 hours, hot and humid weather prevailed over most parts of the country. However, rain-windstorm/thundershower occurred at isolated places in Punjab, Islamabad, south Sindh, Kashmir, southeast Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The rainfall recorded during the period was Punjab: Sialkot (Airport 104mm City 69), Mandi Bahauddin 98, Gujranwala 82, Gujrat 54, Islamabad (Saidpur 61, City 50, Golra 20, Bokra 06, Airport 04), Rawalpindi (Shamsabad 61, Chaklala 41, Kacheri 10), Narowal 44, Mangla 42, Jhelum 37, Hafizabad 35, Murree 18, Sheikhupura 16, Lahore (City 14, Airport 02), Attock 06, Chakwal 02, Sindh: Thar Parker (Islamkot 32, Kalohi 20, Diplo 16, Delhi 09, Mithi, Nagar Parker 07, Chachro 06), Mir Pur Khas 13, Mithi 07, Karachi (Korangi 06, Kemari 02, Jinnah Terminal, Faisal Base, Met Complex, North Karachi, Surjani Town, Masroor Base 01), Thatta 03, Kashmir: Kotli 26, Muzaffarabad (Airport 20, City 17), Balochistan: Lasbela 18, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Malam Jabba 07 and Saidu Sharif 04mm.
The highest maximum temperatures recorded were Dalbandin 47mm, Nokkundi, Sibbi 46 , Jacobabad 45mm.
