Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) workers staged on Saturday a sit-in at Faizabad interchange in Islamabad against Israeli aggression in Gaza, Palestine.

It was a pro-Palestine protest march from Liaquat Bagh to Faizabad, which later turned into a sit-in.

The TLP party is known for its staunch position on blasphemy laws. In the past, the TLP has organised protest sit-ins at the Faizabad Interchange. The large crowds of protesters in this area significantly disrupt traffic flow, forcing drivers to take longer, alternative routes between Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The presence of these sizable demonstrations in the Faizabad Interchange area creates major traffic congestion, obliging motorists to find longer detours to travel between the two neighbouring cities.

“The sit-in at Faizabad will continue until the official boycott of Israeli products and the protest will continue until our demands are met,” TLP chief Saad Rizvi, who is leading the protest, said.

He has demanded that the government provide medical and food aid to Palestine and officially declare Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a “terrorist”.

The Gaza health ministry has said the death toll from an Israeli strike on Al-Mawasi, where displaced Palestinians were sheltering, has risen to 90, AFP reported.

The ministry said “half” of the dead are women and children and that there are 300 wounded, many in “critical” condition.
