Highly wanted terrorist killed in Peshawar, 4 security officials martyred

Abdul Raheem had a Rs6 million bounty on his head

On July 10, 2024, a joint intelligence-based operation was conducted by security forces and police in the Hassan Khel area of Peshawar District, on a report of terrorist presence in the area.

The operation targeted a high-profile terrorist, Abdul Raheem, a wanted terrorist commander with a Rs6 million bounty on his head, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations.

Following an intense exchange of fire, Raheem and two other terrorists were killed. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists.

Raheem was known for his involvement in numerous terrorist activities, including the deaths of Captain Hussain Jehangir and Havildar Shafiq Ullah on May 26, 2024. His elimination is seen as a major victory in the fight against terrorism.

However, the operation came at a heavy cost. Four security personnel, including Sepoy Muhammad Idrees (34), Sepoy Badam Gul (38) of the Pakistan Army, and Sub Inspector Tajmir Shah (38) and Assistant Sub Inspector Muhammad Akram (34) of the CTD KPK, were killed in the line of duty.

“Pakistan’s Security Forces stand shoulder to shoulder with other law enforcement agencies to ensure peace and stability across of Pakistan and such sacrifices of our brave men further strengthen our resolve,” ISPR said.
