The Capital City Police Peshawar has formulated a security plan for Muharram, under which 14,000 police officers and personnel will be deployed for security.

Snipers will also be stationed on buildings along the procession routes.

According to the Peshawar Police spokesman, the checking process at all entry and exit points of the city has been made more stringent, and strict monitoring of people entering the city has begun.

The police are checking the data of people staying in hotels, guest houses and inns in the city.

Armored vehicles will be present near sensitive locations with personnel from specialized units like the Rapid Response Force (RRF), Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), Quick Response Force (QRF), Ladies Police, Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU), Ababeel Squad, and City Patrolling Force will be deployed.

Over 1,000 traffic police officers and personnel will also be stationed. It has been decided to restrict Afghan refugees to their camps and ban their entry into the city. In the last days of Muharram, there will be a complete ban on the entry of all vehicles into the city center.
