According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is expected across the country from July 5, until July 7.

The rainfall has already provided relief from the intense heat in Islamabad and various cities of Punjab, with the weather becoming more pleasant and temperatures dropping. The public has expressed happiness over the change in weather.

However, while the rainfall has reduced the heat in other parts of Punjab, the humidity levels remain high.

Due to the heavy rainfall, PMD has warned of the risk of flash floods in the riverine areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Abbottabad, Swat, Kashmir, and Dera Ghazi Khan.

Additionally, there is a risk of urban flooding in Lahore, Sialkot, Faisalabad, and Peshawar, while the mountainous regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are at risk of landslides.

The Met Office has predicted more heavy rainfall from Friday, July 7th, however, Sindh and most districts of Balochistan are expected to remain hot and humid.

PMD has forecasted the possibility of rainfall in Karachi starting from July 8th.
