Non-bailable warrants issued for KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur
An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur over his absence in cases related to violent protests and violation of Section 144 of the criminal procedure code.
In its order, ATC judge Tahir Abbas Sipra issued the warrants for his Gandapur. On Monday, the court rejected his plea seeking exemption from appearing in court.
The court order stated that has not appeared in the hearings after April 2024.
A case was registered against Gandapur at the I-9 police station in October 2022 regarding protests against the Election Commission of Pakistan’s decision. Another case was also registered for vandalism during the protests against the ECP’s decision to disqualify the PTI chairman.
