The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has reported that Karachi has experienced a reprieve from its intense heatwave as the sea breeze has returned to the city.

For days, the metropolis had been enduring extreme temperatures, but the PMD stated that sea winds are now blowing at 18 km per hour.

Although the weather is expected to remain hot and humid over the next 24 hours, with maximum temperatures predicted to reach between 35°C and 37°C, the return of the sea breeze is providing much-needed relief.

Over the past 24 hours, Karachi recorded a minimum temperature of 32°C. A weather analyst explained that the hot and humid conditions had created low air pressure over the Arabian Sea, but this situation is now changing.

The return of the sea breeze might also bring sea clouds to the city, with a chance of drizzle during the night and early morning in the coming days. Residents of Karachi are hopeful that the upcoming weather changes will provide further respite from the oppressive heat that has gripped the city in recent weeks.

While a brief spell of rain had provided temporary relief earlier, no rain is forecast for today. However, experts anticipate the start of monsoon rains in the city this week.
