Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has also announced his decision to retire from the T20 international cricket, following in the footsteps of senior cricketers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

“With a heart full of gratitude, I bid farewell to T20 internationals,” Jadeja wrote a day after India lifted their second T20 World Cup.

India won their second T20 World Cup after 17 years in Barbados under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.

The Men in Blue beat South Africa in the final to clinch the title for the second time thanks to a crucial knock from Viral Kohli, Sharma’s captaincy, and the bowling unit.

“Like a steadfast horse galloping with pride, I’ve always given my best for my country and will continue to do so in other formats,” Jadeja said.

The left-handed batter joined the likes of Kohli and Sharma by announcing his retirement.

The former skipper after getting his Player of the Match award announced that the final match was an “open secret”, paving the way for the new generation to take on the responsibility.
