Karachi woman escapes abusive house after phone call from Qatar
A 21-year-old woman has been shifted to a police station in Karachi after she contacted her friends in Qatar over alleged abuse at the hands of her mother.
The incident occurred in the Askari 5 area, falling under the jurisdiction of the Malir Cantt police station.
According to media reports, Minahil had complained to her friends in Qatar about being physically abused by her mother, stating that she was subjected to violence and did not want to live with her parents.
Sources reveal that Minahil’s mother slapped her after she made the phone call. Following this, Minahil contacted her friends in Qatar, who then informed the Karachi police about the incident.
Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the given address and transferred Minahil to the Women Police Station.
The police have confirmed that the family is of Pakistani origin but holds Qatari citizenship. They had come to Pakistan to celebrate Eid.
