Finance Minister Aurangzeb removed from ECNEC

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has been removed from another crucial post of Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC).

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif kept the chairmanship of ECNEC.

However, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is also a being considered for the job.

The ECNEC committee consists of eight members total, with Jam Khan Shoro representing Sindh, Adviser to Chief Minister Muzammil Aslam representing Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan Finance Minister Shoaib Nosherwani representing Balochistan as the provincial members.

The committee for an important economic decision-making body, which has been formed with eight members, comprises four members from the central government, and one member from each of the four provinces.

The council has the authority to approve construction projects worth 10 billion rupees or more. It is believed that important development projects related to communications will be undertaken under the supervision of the National Economic Council.
